چکیده

This work aimed to investigate the potential of image-derived indices derived from Sentinel-2/MSI images in volumetric modeling a stand Pinus taeda L. located Bom Retiro, State Santa Catarina. For this purpose, field data forest inventory were used, by fixed area method and simple random sampling with an allocation 18 circular plots 400 m². The remotely comprised orbital image sensor. From image, 14 average vegetation per plot calculated. These correlated volume (m³ 0.04 ha-1) inventory. best correlation for Generalized Difference Vegetation Index (GDVI) Adjusted Soil (SAVI) 0.39 0.36, respectively. regression model completed using these VIs estimated R² controls 0.9402 Syx 1.44%. use spectral generated sensor enabled estimate stand, not revealing differences between accumulated images. However, it is worth pointing out that new tests be carried on other species medium high spatial resolution sensors.

Introgression between Pinus taeda L. and Pinus echinata Mill

Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) and shortleaf pine (Pinus echinata Mill.) have widely overlapping geographic ranges. Hybridization between the two species has interested tree breeders for a long time. Morphologically, the two pine species are different. The needles of loblolly pine are 6 to 9 inches long, usually with three yellow-green needles per fascicle; but shortleaf pine needles are 3 to 5...

Micropropagation of Pinus taeda L. from Juvenile Material

The purpose of this study was to develop a protocol for the micropropagation of Pinus taeda from juvenile material. Apical shoots and nodal segments were inoculated into MS, DCR or WV medium. After 90 days, the explants were transferred to WV5 medium supplemented or not with 6-benzyladenine (BA) (2.0 μM) in order to induce multiple shoot formation. For root induction, a medium composed of water...

Micropropagation of Pinus taeda L. via axillary buds

Introduction Pinus taeda stands for productivity and quality of its timber [1]. Researches using biotechnology are of great importance and have been applied to the improvement of its timber and plantation [2]. The main method of Pinus propagation is by seeds, once the minicuttings depends on the season of the year or depends of juvenile material [3-5]. Thus, researches on micropropagation of Pi...

Association genetics in Pinus taeda L. I. Wood property traits.

Genetic association is a powerful method for dissecting complex adaptive traits due to (i) fine-scale mapping resulting from historical recombination, (ii) wide coverage of phenotypic and genotypic variation within a single experiment, and (iii) the simultaneous discovery of loci and alleles. In this article, genetic association among single nucleotide polymorphisms (58 SNPs) from 20 wood- and ...

Modeling seed dispersal distances: implications for transgenic Pinus taeda.

Predicting forest-tree seed dispersal across a landscape is useful for estimating gene flow from genetically engineered (GE) or transgenic trees. The question of biocontainment has yet to be resolved, although field-trial permits for transgenic forest trees are on the rise. Most current field trials in the United States occur in the Southeast where Pinus taeda L., an indigenous species, is the ...
